3.3 Evaluate and select resources that build a collection addressing curricular needs and learning goals in collaboration with teachers, technology staff, and students. Possible artifacts include:
- Input from faculty and staff regarding resource selection
- selection aids
- school or county collection development guidelines
| West Johnston receives periodic shipments of new books from the Junior Library Guild (JLG). These books are selected from titles of high interest to teen and young adult readers. |
| This item, pictured in the first photo below, was recieved by the library without a catalog record. I worked with the media center specialist to create an original cataloging record in Follett's Destiny Library Management System. |
3.4 Maintains a collection addressing curricular needs and learning goals. Possible artifacts include:
- analysis of collection
- statistics about key areas
- communication with and from teachers regarding needs
- surveys information
| This collection analysis was done in conjunction with the annual inventory and analysis process. I participated in conducting the inventory of the library's collection and technological assets. This data was used to assess the collection, circulation, and age of the collection.

![]() | While working at the public library, I prepared a list of books to purchase to round out the collection's holdings of the 2012 Young Adult Library Service's (YALSA) Teens' Top Ten nominations.

![]() | Additionally, I prepared a list of 2012-13 Battle of the Books titles that were not in the collection so that they could be ordered. Literature promoting Battle of the Books titles was posted in the public library's Young Adult and Children's sections. |

- evidence of promotion of the media center and its resources
